40plus

I've neglected this blog for so long that I'm pleasantly surprised to see that people still follow me. Well, I'm back. I hope I can regularly update as I used to do.

I'm already on my 4th decade of life. I still have 2 young children who I gave birth to in the ages considered to be high risk. I'd love to have another baby, but the fear of having problems due to my advanced maternal age and the fear of not being able to adequately provide for all my children, well, let's just say we're not actively trying. See, a Topamax Birth Defects Lawyer might be able to get you something if your baby turns out to have problems due to the drugs' side effects, but it will never give back totally what has been lost.  Having a baby past 40, while doable, is much more risky than doing so when younger.

Achieving balance, or at least trying to, gets harder and harder everyday. But each day brings along unexpected surprises and unexpected pleasure, sometimes tempered by disappointments and moments of sadness. Well, all the drama makes life interesting. We just have to embrace everything that life gives us.

Meaning of Dreams

I just had a really weird dream last night. I'm not really comfortable sharing it yet, I'm pretty scared about it. But it's still so vivid that I wonder if there's any hidden message or meaning to it. Some people say that dreams actually have meanings. Or maybe it may be a portent of things to come. I've found this interesting site on the net which may give us some insights into the dreams that we have.

Change!

I do believe that when things look bad, there really is no way to go but up. Despite the belt-tightening measures we all have to make because of the worldwide economic crisis. Yesterday, we just celebrated Chinese New Year, the start of the Lunar Year. This year is the year of the Earth Ox, which is supposed to be a year of new beginnings, building to last, and slow but sure accomplishments.

This is certainly what the U.S.A. wants for it to pull out of its current economic situation. The inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th US president (last January 20) symbolizes change...a change in policies that would hopefully spell positive change for the US. And being the world power and the influential country it is, positive change in the USA means positive change for the rest of the world.

Here's to change, and may it auger well for all of us!

I'm Looking Forward To....

The Year 2008 is almost over. While it has its ups and downs, I am grateful that, personally, it does not have any small personal tragedies, unlike, in the previous years, and for that I am happy.

I am looking forward to the following....

• The birth of my second child!
• Trying to expand my online business (how-I'm still trying to figure out)
  
• Letting Ethan apply to big schools (jitters!)
• Expanding our practice? ( I certainly hope so...)
• Investing while the economy is down (I hope we have the extra funds to do so....)

Here's hoping that 2009 will be a better year!

The Way Students Nowadays Do Research

I've always thought that students nowadays have an easier time with doing their researches since information was so widely available and so easy to obtain using a simple click of the mouse. Search engines like Google have definitely made researching easier for all of us.

What we have to watch out for is misinformation. It does not mean that if the information is out there, it's all bound to be true. When researching, we still have to use our very own "computer", our brains, to filter out which are true and which are not.

Isn't It Strange?

heaven, but they don't want
to believe, do, or say anything
to get there?

but when we are going to send
messages about God, we think
about it twice before we share
it with others?
